Say DNCC Press Why The Bad Blogger Treatment? #DemocraticConvention

DNCC Press Bad Blogger Treatment before Democratic Convention Say Democratic Party Why Is The Press Credentialing Process So Bad? #DNC2016 I have covered the last two Democratic National Conventions in 2008 and in 2012. This year my media output and coverage is broader than ever before. I am on the White House Press List. With all of that, you would think the folks running the store for the press over at the Democratic Party would have no problem granting a credential for a third year, right? Well I applied in February and waited and waited. Then I called last week - May 23rd. A fellow said he would take my name and information and they would follow up. They followed up alright. With a rejection email. So I am being punished for calling to ask about my credential? I will not go quietly into the night.

Harembe Gorilla Killed After Dragging Child - Binji Jua A Different Case

A number of people are upset that the Cincinnati Zoo shot the rare Gorilla named Harembe. But one look at the videos of how Harembe was treating the small child should give anyone who cares about children pause. Instead, they point to another gorilla from 1996, Binji Jua, and say that she was not killed in a similar incident. But there is a difference. Where Harembe was dragging the kid around, Binji Jua, a female, was caring for the unconscious child and cradling it. Thus, we have two different cases and that proves you can't really compare them because the gorillas acted differently. Stay tuned.

Las Vegas Oakland Raiders Stadium Will Give No Tax Revenue To City, County In Proposal

The Las Vegas Sands and Majestic Realty Oakland / Las Vegas Raiders Stadium Economic and Fiscal Impact document that is part of the information for the May 26th Southern Nevada Tourism and Infrastructure Commission was written to fool public officials. It promises tax revenue by the millions but then one small report section near the end of it calls for a tax increment revenue district. That area will collect all tax revenue and give it to the proposed stadium authority that is ran by the developer - in this proposal. So the City of Las Vegas and Clark County will not get tax revenue from the project if they go along with the tax increment revenue financing proposal. Oh and that is on top of the other $750 million the Las Vegas Sands and Majestic people want from an increase in the hotel tax. Greedy. http://ift.tt/1qQfGY5

Oakland Officials To Present Stadium Land Proposal To Oakland Raiders In Weeks

According to conversations and texts I have had with City Of Oakland and County Of Alameda Officials, after The NFL Spring Meeting in Charlotte, Mayor of Oakland, City, Alameda County, Coliseum Officials have got into a high gear of stadium-related meetings. Already the Mayor and the Councilmember Larry Reid have talked as well as called Alameda County Supervisor Scott Haggerty. The result will be a planned giant meeting to be held next week and with the objective of coming to one voice on a land deal proposal to the Oakland Raiders. I am told the desire is to set a meeting with The Raiders within the next two or three weeks. What the officials have done is determined to meet and solve head on the problems that have stood in the way of getting a stadium deal done with the Raiders. The biggest news here is that Oakland and Alameda County have made a concerted effort to meet and speak to The Raiders with one voice. Once that meeting is held next week the East Bay Entities will try and set a time to meet with the Oakland Raiders and make a presentation to them and get their feedback. Stay tuned.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell Addresses Oakland Good Faith Dealing Problem With Raiders

At today's press conference and after the awarding of Super Bowls 53, 54, and 55 to Atlanta, Miami, and Los Angeles, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell was kind enough to address my question regarding concerns that a number of Oakland officials had with a number of actions by the Raiders and their principal Owner Mark Davis. I will name a number of them in another vlog, but two major examples involve Davis telling City of Oakland and Alameda County Officials that the team would not meet with them until after the Houston NFL meeting and the matter of team in LA, and even then not until the Coliseum lease was signed, which was April 27th - meanwhile during that period Davis goes off and, unknown to Oakland officials, meets with Las Vegas officials. The other example was last year. Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf had no idea the Raiders were negotiating with Carson and part of a team to build a new stadium there. Schaaf heard it from me, and even then did not believe it until it became common knowledge via the local media. But the bottom line is the Raiders should have informed Mayor Schaaf and not caused her or city staff to be blindsided. Commissioner Goodell said that the NFL had been transparent, (I agree) but also that both the City of Oakland and the Raiders shared blame in this large communications problem. Goodell said that he's in contact with Mayor Schaaf regularly (including 10 PM last night) and that she is aware that they have to "do something" - in other words present a plan. The problem is she and the NFL have a person in the face of the Raiders Owner, who seems to not want to really work transparently with Oakland officials to get something done. Stay tuned.

SNTIC Gives LVCC Expansion Priority Over Oakland Raiders Las Vegas NFL Stadium

SNTIC Gives LVCC Expansion Priority Over Oakland Raiders Las Vegas NFL Stadium Oakland Raiders Owner Mark Davis was treated like Moses who came from the promised land of the NFL to Las Vegas to bless the city and Clark County and Nevada with the promise of a pro football team - his own. He wowed the media at Nevada Governor Brian Sandoval's Southern Nevada Tourism And Infrastructure Commission when he spoke on April 28th. Many of the reports coming out of that meeting would have you believe the Raiders were already packing up and leaving Oakland for Las Vegas. Formalities like the $750 million hotel tax subsidy that Mark Davis, Majestic Reallty, and billionaire Sheldon Adelson's Las Vegas Sands Corp were asking for were completely ignored by all but the local newspaper reporter from the Las Vegas Daily Review - and that person works for Sheldon Adelson. Still, SNTIC website posts and reports contained clear warnings that Davis and Adelson were far from getting what they wanted. The media was so obsessed with what the NFL would do with Davis proposal, it forgot to even learn if a $1.4 billion stadium mostly paid for by hotel taxes was what Nevada and Las Vegas really wanted? One NFL media type even remarked on Twitter "We shall see this summer", even as I told him the fate of Davis proposal would be determined on May 26th, and not later. He, liked others, automatically assumed Davis proposal was going straight to the Nevada Legislature in a special session. The page for the Governor's commission's website provided warning: that, on May 26th 2016, the group would prioritize which project was most important to implement first. Well, a simple visit to the website now will reveal that answer: the expansion of The Las Vegas Convention Center. In letters larger than the rest, the desire to give the go-ahead for this much-need new phase is described like this: "Convention Center Legislature Recommendation". Then, below those words are these: "Stadium Proposal Follow-Up". In other words, the Commission has not even finished, let alone really fully started, analysis of Davis' proposal. Indeed, the consultant to the commission intended to have an analysis, but what was out on the website are two documents that are very damaging to Mark Davis' desire to have his team in Sin City. One document describes the percentage of public money that the Mark Davis proposal calls for, and compares that to other NFL Stadiums - the Davis proposal would result in the largest tax subsidy in NFL history. And that does not include the $200 million from tax increment financing - add that (and that is a conservative estimate) and the subsidy is almost at, if not over, $1 billion. The other document details the process of evaluating the 42 acre UNLV site that is next to two runways at McClarren International Airport - that calls for far more than height constraints and noise concerns. The whole of what needs to be looked at, alone, points to a process that could take four months to complete. And if that UNLV site is not used, then it's not as if other sites will not have their own issues that have to be worked out. Nevada is not going to hold up investing in the growth of its convention and tourism industry for the development of a football stadium, even if it's for the NFL. Mark Davis Has An Oakland Lease Problem The minutes from the April 28th meeting reveal another problem for Mark Davis: the lease the Oakland Raiders signed contains what the Coliseum Joint Powers Authority Executive Director Soctt McKibben has called "warrants" or markers to determine where both the team and the City of Oakland and Alameda County were in progress toward a new stadium at the Coliseum. Davis told the SNTIC that his intent was to play the Raiders in Oakland for the three year lease and then move to Las Vegas. The problem is that's not what the Coliseum JPA lease calls for. If the Raiders are in violation of the lease or about to be, is up to the NFL and the City of Oakland, but from this blogger's perspective, it certainly looks like Davis is close to being in that position. It's one thing to make a statement pointing to a possible violation, but on the other hand the last time the Raiders suggested they might break the Coliseum Master Lease agreement was 1997, and the City of Oakland did sue the Raiders on that basis. Right now, Oakland has no stomach to file a lawsuit against the Raiders, preferring to handle the problem behind closed doors. But will the NFL allow a member club to act in what its host community believes is a less than good faith manner? The NFL Relocation Bylaws call for good faith bargaining - something Oakland Officials have told me the Raiders have not done to date. Stay tuned.

Raiders Working On Oakland NFL New Coliseum Stadium Cost Study

Raiders Working On Oakland NFL New Coliseum Stadium Cost Study Many of you have asked about the meeting that took place between Oakland City Administrator Claudia Cappio and new Oakland Raiders business affairs representative and point person Larry McNeil that took place three weeks ago now, and where the news about that was broken here at Zennie62.com. Well, after conversations this week and on Thursday, I can now tell you that the Raiders are working on a new stadium cost analysis study for a facility at the Coliseum. The news of that study work by the Raiders was told by Ms. Cappio to Oakland officials and County of Alameda Officials and Coliseum JPA Officials last week. I was told by several leaders that they don't know when the report by the Raiders will be finished. This also does not clear up the new problem where the Oakland and East Bay Officials learned the Raiders duped them into thinking they were just waiting for the NFL's LA decision in January, and were not going to meet on any plans for a new stadium in Oakland until after that January Houston meeting, and after a new Coliseum lease was signed. That was done on April 27th of 2016. But the Raiders Las Vegas stadium plans had gathered life and steam between the time Oakland officials were told to wait and the April 27th date. Now, this news of the Las Vegas plans being set in motion as far back as perhaps December of last year brings up a new set of issues regarding good faith bargaining. While Oakland public leaders are not pleased about that news, and NFL guidelines clearly prohibit such behavior, they are also now obviously working with Mark Davis and his people on a new home in Oakland - as well as one in Las Vegas. Let the games begin - well, they really already started.

Oakland Raiders Fooled City Of Oakland: Officials Not Told Of Las Vegas Plans, Asked To Wait For NFL

In January of this year, and just as the National Football League was meeting in Houston to determine which NFL team was going to be granted the right to move to Los Angeles, the Oakland Raiders had informed the City of Oakland and the County of Alameda (or 'East Bay Entities') that no more meetings on a new stadium would be scheduled until after the Owners meeting and when a new Coliseum lease was signed by all parties. The East Bay Entities were under the impression the Raiders were waiting out the NFL, and not working on plans to move to another city. But this letter from UNLV President Len Jessup and uploaded originally by Las Vegas Journalist Aubrey Clerkin on January 28th 2016, provides clear evidence that the Raiders Owner Mark Davis had already set in motion the Las Vegas Stadium plans - my conversations with officials representing the East Bay Entities over the past day revealed they were completely in the dark regarding what the Raiders were really doing at the time. The NFL's Relocations Bylaws have a paragraph that reads as follows: Negotiations Prior to League Consideration 1. Because League policy favors stable team community relations, clubs are obligated to work diligently and in good faith to obtain and to maintain suitable stadium facilities in their home territories, and to operate in a manner that maximizes fan support in their current home community. A club may not, however, grant exclusive negotiating rights to a community or potential stadium landlord other than one in its current home territory." The third paragraph states that a club may talk to another community about relocating: "The League’s policy and procedures on franchise relocation do not restrict any club’s ability to discuss a possible relocation, or to negotiate a proposed lease or other arrangements, with a community outside its home territory. Nor do they restrict the ability of multiple clubs to negotiate terms of a proposed relocation with a single community' But since the NFL says that new stadium negotiations with the home city are to be done in "good faith", the question is what's the legal definition of good faith. It's this: "honest intent to act without taking an unfair advantage over another person or to fulfill a promise to act, even when some legal technicality is not fulfilled. The term is applied to all kinds of transactions." From my talks with East Bay Officials, it's clear they were caught unaware of the Raiders actions with respect to Las Vegas, and were essentially going along with what the NFL team had told them it was going to do: not meet on plans for a new stadium until after the NFL made its LA decision and a new Coliseum lease was signed, which was on April 27th. The question is was the NFL aware of how the Raiders were treating the City of Oakland and the East Bay Entities as it was making its Las Vegas plans? It's obvious the Silver and Black were not dealing in good faith with Oakland, and the reaction of public executives I have talked to reveals that, even though they did not wish to go on the record with a statement at this time. -- Zennie Abraham, Jr.: Phone: 510-517-7565 Executive Producer: Zennie62.com Chairman and CEO: Zennie62Media.com Subscribe to Zennie62 on YouTube.com: http://www.youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=zennie62 _______________________________ Chairman and CEO Sports Business Simulations Visit http://zennie62blog.com Zennie Abraham is one of the first generation of YouTube Partners going back to 2006, and made partner in 2008. Las Vegas Oakland Raiders NFL Stadium Tax Subsidy Is $1 Billion

Las Vegas Oakland Raiders NFL Stadium Tax Subsidy Is $1 Billion If the Nevada Government somehow does the unthinkable and grants Oakland Raiders Owner Mark Davis and his partners hotel casino billionaire Sheldon Adelson and Majestic Realty the $780 million transient occupancy tax subsidy their proposal to build an NFL stadium calls for, that will trigger another tax subsidy Majestic wants. The total tax subsidy for the stadium project would then come up a conservative estimate of $1 billion. The reason for this is Majestic Realty has remarked that it would need a tax increment financing revenue district to recover costs. Given the proposal, that means the stadium would be part of the TIF district and if the bond issue designed to be the use of the TIF revenue were floated, the annual increment revenue over a 30 year or 40 year period would be around $200 million according to my calculations. $780 million plus $200 million comes to $980 million. That would be the largest subsidy ever given to the builders of an NFL stadium in history. The question is what does the NFL itself think of this giant cost to the public? That is a question I will raise at the NFL Spring League Meeting next week. Stay tuned.

Egypt Air Flight 804 is being compared to MH370 that was lost and is still missing over the Indian Ocean. Now, on Twitter, speculation has turned to the idea that the flight was the victim of an intentional attack. Last year, Russia suffered the downing of Metrojet Flight 9268, killing 224 people. It was found that British bomb markers were involved in that terrorist act. It was called Russia's 9-11. Was Egypt Air the focus of a terrorist attack? Stay tuned. Stay tuned.

Azealia Banks Trump Endorse, Skai Jackson Feud - She Needs A Black Man

Azealia Banks needs sex with a black man. That is the only thing that will calm her down. Consider that in just the last 24 hours, Banks endorsed Donald Trump, and got into a Twitter feud with 14-year old Skai Jackson. Before that she went on a rant about how black women needs to bleach their skin! The last man she was linked with was Jesse Bradford, but then she jumped to David Holmes and publicly said she doesn't date black men because she says black men take black women for granted. Frankly that is her choice but it may signal a kind of unnecessary pickiness which causes her to jump from man to man. Just saying. Ms. Banks needs some lovin from a brother.

Oakland Raiders Las Vegas NFL Stadium Has Major FAA Airport Problem

Mark Davis, the Oakland Raiders Owner, has been on a mission to show that he wants to relocate his football team away from it's spritual home in Oakland and to Las Vegas. On top of the fiscal, legal, and moral issues that come into play, there's another one: the Federal Aviation Administration. Davis and his friends, and those in the Las Vegas and Los Angeles media, have worked to paint a picture that a Las Vegas move is easy and that the Sin City is more desirable for the Silver and Black than its birthplace: Oakland. But in crafting this idea, they have left out a lot of details. One large one is that the currently favored site is so close to the runways at Las Vegas International Airport that it might as well be sitting on one of them. As the photo here shows, the land has a "runway protection zone" where nothing can be built on that part of the land that attracts wildlife - a tailgate area like what Davis wants draws birds. So, seven acres of parking of the kind called for for the stadium will certainly draw wildlife. On top of that, there's the issue of height - the stadium with a retractable roof will be almost 300-feet high. That would place it at the extreme end of the property and push the parking toward the runway. And then there's the issue of how communications and phone jamming devices that may be used for a large scale event will interract with the avionics of an airplane. Yep. It's one thing for a consultant to say the land is OK - it was paid by UNLV. But the FAA has yet to weigh in and from this study photo, the outcome doesn't look good. Stay tuned.

Vote For The Oakland Sugar Soda Tax In November

Vote For The Oakland Sugar Soda Tax In November The need to tax sugary sodas as a way to raise money for local health programs is greater than ever. Estimates are that it will raise as much as $12 million annually for The City of Oakland. The Oakland City Council has placed the Sugar Soda Tax Initiative on the November ballot. It's authored by Oakland At-Large Councilmember Rebecca Kaplan, District Four Councilmember Annie Campbell Washington, and District Six Councilmember Desley Brooks. The proposed tax would be one cent per ounce. Sodas are disproportionately marketed to blacks and Latinos in Oakland's flatlands - it's time to counter those actions and encourage a healthy diet.
