Summly: Yahoo! $30M Purchase Of Brit Teen's App Tells Hackers To Buggers-Off

Well, Yahoo! threw $30 million at the iPhone app Summly and 17-year-old Nick D’Aloisio and royally pissed off the hacker nation.

To understand the collective anger of hackers, you have to accept that many programmers who work in the area of creating new code for novel uses dream of being the one who’s creation become a popular device that then brings them a large paycheck.

Let’s get that out of the way now: if Summly were merely part of some new AOL-style Yahoo incubator and no large dollar acquisition was involved, no one would be screaming about it. Dave Miliband Leaving Parliament for NY: Milibands are GO!

This video is a hilarious spoof of the old Thunderbirds puppet animation shows, but features MP Dave Miliband and his brother Ed playing in every character's role. A pretty nice job of facial embedding!

Dave Miliband is, in reality, planning to leave his post as MP for a "dream job" in New York, City. He has, as the Mirror UK put it, a number of "lucrative directorships and speaking roles" that have paid him six times his salary as an MP.

Stay tuned.

After some consternation that the star of SkyFall, the highest grossing Bond film in history earning $1.1 billion, may want to call it quits, Mr. Craig will be back as Ian Fleming’s British agent.

In a conference call with investors on March 19th, MGM Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Gary Barber said that they were working on a screenplay for the next Bond film, pre-titled “Bond 24.”
